Construction Schedule
During the first six years of the program, the initial development phase (IDP), the goal is to create one master neighborhood containing 372 homes. A total of 210 new homes will be constructed that will include junior NCO, senior NCO, and company grade officer homes built for military families. Corvias Military Living will also complete a total of 162 major renovations—97 historic home renovations and 65 renovations that will combine existing, smaller duplex houses into spacious single-family homes.
The majority of the historic homes at Aberdeen Proving Ground were built between 50 to 90 years ago and vary in size. Corvias Military Living's newly constructed homes will be spacious averaging 1,853 square feet. New homes will have three or four bedrooms and 2.5 baths, featuring a separate dining room, family room, breakfast nook, and storage.
Corvias Military Living has gone to great lengths during the planning phase to ensure that the neighborhood is well-designed and to ensure that each family will receive personalized service from a dedicated neighborhood and maintenance team.
These teams will eventually be located in the Neighborhood Center that is scheduled to be built in 2014. The Neighborhood Center will include amenities such as a swimming pool, fitness center, computer lab, lounge area, community room, maintenance facility, playground, picnic area, and other open spaces for community activity.
The partnership is long-term and will focus on the sustainability of housing and enhance the quality of family and community life. Construction will be focused on safety, low environmental impact, and reduced disruptions for families. Continual upgrading, renovation, and replacement will take place throughout the next 50 years.
